When is it time to seek professional counseling?
Chances are, if you are looking up therapists, or thinking that “if things get worse, I need a plan,” my immediate and professional recommendation is: “NOW is the time.”
In my clinical experience, most people recognize their need to get professional support approximately 6 to 8 months before they finally make the call to find a therapist and set up an appointment. If that description sounds like you, and you are just beginning your research, I’m so glad you’re visiting my website. Please keep me in mind. However, I respectfully urge you to read on.
Your life, body, relationships, physical, spiritual and emotional health are priceless assets that need to be taken care of—and taken seriously. If your way of fixing the problem isn’t working – or things get worse, consider it clear evidence that your method may not be as effective as you hoped. It’s time to bring in an expert and do the work right.
If you are ready for a clinically effective, solution-focused, experienced, Licensed Psychotherapist to help you manage your life and/or marriage, I am honored to have the privilege and opportunity to serve you. If you aren’t quite ready to dig into the necessary, life changing work ahead of you, do not despair. We can begin the good work the minute you are ready. I look forward to our work together.
Grateful for the opportunity to serve,
Lisa
